Note: The examples below show spaces around square brackets for clarity. Do not include those spaces.
Internal Links
When clicked, an internal wiki link will open the named page. Usually it opens beside the referring page. A Shift-Click will add the new page to the far right of all already opened pages.
Some wikis would show an internal link to an absent page as a Red Link or some other specialized notation. Federated wiki does not make this distinction.
External Links
A link to an ordinary web page is created by enclosing the page URL and descriptive text inside single square brackets.
When clicked, an external link will open the linked page in a new browser tab or possibly a new browser window.
By convention we append external links to the end of paragraphs using a Link Word that describes what type of content one will find.
